The plates extend to the middle of the square. Our hands are at chest level on the upper edge of the plates. The weight of the plates allows our hands to make only small movements Balance 3 1983 I place the stone, on which I have marked the four wind directions, in the hands of inhabitants of the rock island and ask them to give an oral description of its shape, relief, colour gradation and surface structure. Limestone 2003 Being tightly connected to the top of the tree, I am moved by the tree that is moved by the wind. Balance 6 1985 I rotate slowly on my axis, calling out the names of the four wind directions at the moment I pass them. During following rotations I gradually lengthen the vowels of the words while raising the tone of my voice and at the same time lowering its strength. I rotate on my axis in silence. Rotation 1 2015 I walk with a varying pace in different directions while calling out the word wind in various languages. Wind 2019 At a distance from each other, we are scattered among the visitors of the event. One of us writes, and at the same time speaks, the first sentence of my text about the movements of the clouds. One by one we all start writing and pronouncing the same text at a writing pace. Independantly of each other we repeatedly write/speak the text. One by one our voices fall silent. Movements of clouds 2022 Literature festival Night of Words Rotterdam
