Towers
Starting point:
The court of the Museum Prinsenhof has in the middle a rectangle of 13 x 17 meters, paved with Meuse-cobbles. The outline of this I have covered with chalk-powder. From four remarkable spots in the vicinity, ropes have been tied towards this frame of chalk:
⁃ the spire of the Old Church
⁃ the horseman (little tower) of the Waalse Church
⁃ a chimney of the Prinsenhof
⁃ the well on the court-yard (to be looked upon as tower)
Performance:
Starting at 10 am I draw - hanging with my weight in one of the ropes and moving sideways between the limitations of the chalk-frame - parts of the circles of which the above mentioned towers are the centers.
Prolonged repetitions of these movements cause a drawing of these bows in the chalk on the cobbles. With short intervals the movements continue until 5 pm
