Schroef (Screw)
On a wall in the museum in a room of 23 meters long and 4 meters high, I marked the middle point of that wall.
At 3 metres from the short side, along the cross-section of the room, cheese-cloth has been spread, behind which is the audience.
I am dressed in white.
The action takes place in semi-darkness and starts, when I stand in front of the middle of the wall holding a bright lamp in my right hand on the level of the middle point. After few minutes I start moving along a white line which indicates the middle of the space. I start rotating the lamp around the middle (heart) line of the space. With small forward shifts I move in the in the direction of the audience. While the speed of my movements remains the same, the rotation of the lamp and the width of the rotations is increasing until the bulb breaks either against the floor or against the ceiling, in front of the audience.
That is the end of the performance.
