Balance 1
In the factory-hall of 30x30 meters are rows of iron pillars. The distance between them are 3,5 meters and 5 meters. I have made one bow constructed from 3 bamboo sticks. I walk trough the corridors of rows of pillars and keep the stick in front of me, firmly held in the middle with both hands. I walk in the middle of the corridor. The stick is a little longer than the distance between the rows, so that the ends hit the opposite pillars at the same time, or at different times, or only one pillar is hit. Before the performance a tape has been made with ticking sounds (the hall loudly echoes every tick) which have been dubbed in such a way, that the sound developes from single ticks to an undistinguishable mix of sounds.
During the performance I am completely white.
I walk trough the wide and narrow corridors and when I get out of balance - when one of the ends of the stick misses a pillar - I either correct or maximize the movement.
When I go through the wide corridors I gradually increase the speed. Then the tape is switched on and the tick from the tape mixes with the real ticks.
A few minutes before the end I leave and let the tape play till the end.
